      About the Role

      We are seeking a talented Associate Art Director to play a key role in leading our eCommerce team. You will guide our in-house photo team of photographers and stylists, plus freelance talent to execute all imagery for gap.com. This is a hands-on role that will cover Women’s, Men’s and Kids commerce photography, as well as overseeing laydown direction. With a passion for excellence and attention to detail, this is a crucial role in maintaining and evolving Gap’s iconic aesthetic online.

      What You'll Do

      • Reporting to the Creative Director, lead and direct the in-house eCommerce team including the photographer, stylists, and all freelance support.
      • Partner with the Creative Director to oversee art direction, image selection and support the process across multiple sets.
      • Work closely with the Creative Director and Production on model casting and freelance talent.
      • On set Art Direction required as well as being the lead AD across all sets.
      • Elevate and evolve Gap’s aesthetic while supporting the overall brand direction.
      • Collaborate closely with the styling team to ensure brand guidelines are being met.
      • Be the overall lead on final image selection and share with Creative Director and Director of Styling as regular intervals during the season.
      • Create and maintain hair and make-up direction for all models.
      • Create and maintain seasonal art direction decks for all divisions.

      Who You Are

      • A minimum of 5 year’s experience as an Art Director in fashion— high volume eCommerce experience is extremely important.
      • BA in design, photography, visual arts, digital media or related field.
      • Ability to work in Capture One a must.
      • An elevated, fashion-oriented eye for photography, casting, styling, lighting, retouching and artistic vision.
      • Displays a very strong understanding of the Gap brand– our products and consumer behavior.
      • Strong communication skills and time management skills.
      • Strategic thinker willing to push the envelope and bring fresh, innovative ideas to life.
      • Collaborative, inclusive and flexible team member.
      • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail.
      • Proactive problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate obstacles and also quickly generate alternate solutions/ideas and change course as needed.
      • Can-do positive attitude and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach; personable and flexible with demands and changes in business.
      • Collaborative and positive attitude.
