What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath
- Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing
- Document files in a clear, concise, and professional manner
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
- Juris Doctor degree
- Admission to the Georgia bar and must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Georgia
- Must be able to travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, and conferences
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow complex instructions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in civil litigation
- Familiarity with insurance defense-related litigation
- Professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and in written correspondence
