Provides leadership as a senior staff member of the Department working directly with the Director to establish goals, objectives , and strategic plan; make departmental decisions; and develop and implement staff, facilities and programmatic policies and procedures for program areas (Aquatics, Facility Operations, Fitness and Wellness, Intramural Sports, Outdoor Recreation, and Sport Clubs) and multiple support areas
Provide leadership for the department in the absence of the Director
Hire, train, supervise, appraise, and recognize direct reports: Assistant Director of Facilit ies, Assistant Director of Sports Clubs, and approximately 60 undergraduate employees
Oversee all special events in facilities and special contracts
Manage the Student Recreation Center 90,000 sq. ft. facility (multi-sport courts, racquetball courts, fitness and weight room, climbing center, Aquatic Center, track, multipurpose rooms, boxing area , and support facilities to include policies and procedures, risk management, budgets, and staffing and training.
Ensure staff compliance with industry standard safety and risk management practices, facility inspections, and established university policies and procedures
Assist with coordinating department strategic planning including data collection and forecast for major facility and program expansions
Manage the facility master schedule, reservation and solicitation process, and risk management plans for Campus Recreation Center
Co-manage and coordinate facility reservation process of all shared athletic, academic and campus recreation sport facilities
Work with Campus Operations on university facility initiatives
Attend regular University Risk Management meetings
Review Facilities and Sport Clubs policies and procedures
Assist in Risk Management assessment of Facilities and Sport Clubs
Forecast, prepare and administer $300,000 in revenue and expense budgets for Facilities and Sport Clubs
Oversee Facilities income projections and monitor fiscal year comparisons
Oversee semester and annual program evaluations, assessments, and outcomes
Assessment creation and development
Approve staff time and ensure compliance with payroll and purchasing processes
Assist with coordinating department strategic planning
Purchase and maintain large sport, fitness, programming, facility, custodial, camp and maintenance equipment for department
Maintain and implement building systems and equipment replacement plans for department facilities
Develop and oversee annual service and project contracts for department facilities and operations
Develop and oversee annual service and project contracts for technology
Provide recommendations for space utilization to develop efficient and effective programs
Ensure compliance of staff with industry standard safety and risk management practices, facility inspections, and established Campus Recreation policies & procedures
In accordance with the Division of Student Engagement and Success/Department of Campus Recreation Strategic Plan, other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Eight years of related experience.
Thorough knowledge of campus recreation as demonstrated by a minimum of 2 years of full-time employment in a college or University level campus recreation program
College/university facilities and/or competitive sports experience
American Red Cross CPR /AED , First Aid certified
American Red Cross CPR /AED , First Aid Instructor
First Aid / CPR/AED Certification or obtained within the first 90 days of hire
First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor C ertification or obtained within the first 90 days of hire

The Associate Director of Operations, reporting to the Director of Campus Recreation, will help direct facility operations and sport club program for Campus Recreation. This includes the areas of Facility Operations, coordinating custodial operations, facility work orders, daily management of equipment maintenance, Campus Recreation Center special projects, Esports Lounge, Fort Worth campus recreation facilities, facility reservations and all other shared recreation facilities are managed through this position.
This is an in-office position located in Stephenville, Texas . W ork hours include Monday to Friday; from 8am to 5pm . This position requires a flexible work schedule , which at times will require frequent evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Additional hours may be required during peak periods. Must be able to work remotely at the request of the University .

Commensurate with experience
The target base annual salary is $53,745 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
