Conceive of, guide, and execute ambitious and enterprising storytelling from pitch to production across all platforms including websites, apps, print, social, video, events, etc.
Write, assign, edit, and produce a mix of long-lead assignments, service stories/projects (including social video), and quick-turn pieces in response to news events
Manage foodways content for newsletters and other subscription products
Partner effectively across the team to ensure global foodways content is cohesive, engages diverse audiences, and is in line with the brands’ goals and KPIs.
Collaborate with Test Kitchen and E-Commerce editors on related content
Adhere to and manage team to agreed upon content strategy for editorial calendar, deadlines, and workflows
Top edit content, write coverlines, and serve as lead editor on individual stories, as needed.
Cultivate relationships with and build a diverse and inclusive contributor network for BA & Epi by proactively sourcing and bringing in new writers and editors for assignments.
Directly manage other editors—provide effective feedback, coaching, and mentorship with the goal of growing their pitching, writing, and editing skills.
Represent BA and Epi internally and externally, as needed.
8+ years writing, editing and producing content at a major publication, with at least 2 years directly managing others.
Demonstrated expertise and a deep portfolio of national and international reporting on dining and foodways.
Experience producing content within a multiplatform editorial strategy, including print, newsletters, video, and events.
Strong editorial judgment, writing, and editing skills
Organized, detail-oriented, able to adhere to tight deadlines and balance multiple priorities and projects.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively cultivate relationships with people at all levels, across departments.
Demonstrated experience incorporating digital best practices including working in content management systems and SEO.
Hosting and/or video production experience is a plus.

Location:
New York, NYThe Associate Director, Global Foodways is responsible for developing multi-platform content for the BA & Epi brands by providing thoughtful insight and sophisticated analysis on the ways global foodways shape culture and society. In this leadership role, you will take a deep dive into national and international culinary trends by conceiving, planning, assigning, editing, and producing ambitious stories and sharp reporting that are informed by data and build audience engagement in support of BA & Epi brand goals.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $115,000-$130,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
