- Work with the Senior Director of Global Partnerships, AVP IGJ, CJP staff, and volunteers to advance IGJ’s vision and mission, with a focus on grantmaking and relationship management in the areas of Peoplehood, Shared Society and Israel Education.
- Manage relationships and provide consultation to Jewish educators and grantees in educational institutions and support facilitation together with their Israeli partners.
- In collaboration with the Senior Director of Global Partnerships, develop substantive relationships with relevant volunteers and community partners in Boston and Haifa
- Manage the strategy, budget, implementation, and ongoing oversight of key projects and initiatives across these agendas.
- Manage community mapping of inputs and approaches to Israel education.
- Curate and provide educational opportunities within and outside CJP to deepen content knowledge of Israel, helping diverse learners to build points of view, while engaging with complexity and difference
- Oversee the grantmaking process of Shared Society target areas, including Ethiopian Jewry programs, Parents at the Center, and Arab-Jewish Relations
- Manage volunteer committee meetings and programming (including logistics, materials, communications, follow-up)
- Evaluate volunteer experience and develop and implement improvements and innovation as needed.
- Collaborate with staff on anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism work.
- Effectively represent IGJ to colleagues and community members
- Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Management, International Affairs/Internal relations, Jewish Leadership, Jewish Communal Service, or Social Work preferred.
- At least five years professional experience in related field with strategic planning and execution, program management and/or community organizing.
- Deep, up-to-date understanding of history and current events in Israel as well as a strong understanding of the community climate around Israel
- Experience working with Jewish education and religious institutions.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with staff, volunteer leaders, and community partners
- Ability to understand new concepts, multipart requests, and translate them into action
- Demonstrated experience with project management, including setting SMART goals, implementing methodologies, and measuring impact
- Desire to work on a fast-paced, dynamic team
- Solutions-oriented and action-oriented (i.e., takes on new opportunities and difficult challenges with energy and enthusiasm)
- Facility managing finances, including projects, accounting and budget management
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Political acuity and experience managing sensitive information
- Ability to manage varied opinions of stakeholders
- Demonstrated critical thinking
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes and shifting priorities .

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel to outside meetings and sites, including internationally.
- Hybrid Work Schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays in office work is required; Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays remote work option applies.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, much of which will be working at a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

The Associate Director, Israel and Global Partnerships is responsible for the management and growth of the following CJP portfolios: CJP’s Peoplehood (programs focused on exploring Jewish peoplehood, education and identity between Boston and Haifa), Shared Society (initiatives aimed at creating a more equitable society in Israel), and Israel Education (advancing knowledge and connections within Greater Boston’s Jewish communities). This role will work closely with the Senior Director of Global Partnerships, and the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Israel and Global Jewry (IGJ) to help develop an impactful strategy for CJP’s partnerships in Haifa, Israel. The Associate Director will work cross-functionally within CJP and across a diverse set of current and potential community partners, building towards a synergistic standard of Israel education, working to foster increased feelings of connectedness to Israel and its people through grantmaking. This position will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining high-quality partnerships to further our mission for Israel and Global Jewry.
