      Description

      argenx is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and compassionate individual to join the US Patient Advocacy team as a Patient Community Liaison (PCL) - East. The role will be accountable for executing the local and US patient advocacy strategy to foster relationships with and deliver on outcomes for the patient community across branded indications.

      The US Patient Community Liaison -East will be required to live in East Coast.

      Roles and Responsibilities:

      Patient Advocacy Strategy Execution

      • Execute the East Patient Advocacy engagement plan, translating US and local market strategies to actionable tactics and events
      • Develop authentic and enduring relationships between argenx and local patient communities
      • Build a comprehensive understanding of patient and caregiver needs within the local market based on on-the-ground interactions (e.g., interactive patient forums)
      • Deliver tailored and impactful patient communications to disseminate key information around new therapies, argenx programs, and other aspects of care
      • Support the mobilization of patients and caregivers to advocate for appropriate care with regional reimbursement agencies and local providers
      • Represent argenx externally in the local market and at patient advocacy symposia/conferences, building connections with local non-501 (c)(3) advocacy groups, patients and their caregivers
      • Define and measure key performance metrics for business impact at local events

      Cross-Functional Collaboration

      • Collaborate closely with the Global Patient Advocacy Lead/Team (GPA) to ensure alignment of strategic initiatives and consistent standards across Patient Advocacy
      • Partner with Global Patient Advocacy to coordinate local field team support (e.g., SBLs, TBMs) with organizing argenx sponsored Patient Advocacy events and activities (e.g., walks, health fairs), following appropriate compliance guardrails
      • Inform local market engagement by generating and synthesizing patient insights for local Market Teams (e.g., SBLs)
      • Work cross-functionally with members of the Field, Market Access, HCP Experience, Medical Affairs and Evidence Generation, and other members of Patient Experience to identify the needs and opportunities relevant to patient advocacy at that local and regional level
      • Provide local support to patient services team during the patient on-boarding process, as needed
      • Ensure the patient voice is represented within the local field teams and regions


      Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree required, with an advanced degree preferred
      • Minimum 7 years of experience in pharma/biotech, with at least 3 years of experience in advocacy, external affairs, or policy
      • Experience with rare disease patient interactions and compliance required


      Skills and Competencies:

      • Passion for understanding and championing the needs of people living with rare diseases, their caregivers, and their community, resulting in elevated patient experience
      • Deep understanding of the best practices for patient advocacy engagement and compliance regulations
      • Strong understanding of relevant rules and regulations within the pharmaceutical and biotech space, including HIPAA and compliance
      • Compelling oral and written communicator to both internal and external stakeholders
      • Active and empathetic listener to engage effectively with patients and their communities
      • Patient-centric mindset and successful track record of effectively and transparently engaging with patients and their communities
      • An entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the drive to embrace innovation and develop creative but well-reasoned solutions to business challenges
      • Proficient understanding of disease states and product knowledge (post approval)
      • Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, managing through ambiguity effectively
      • Effective collaborator on cross-functional teams with a variety of backgrounds
      • Expertise in online and offline tools and techniques for engagement, collaboration, and feedback
      • Fluency in translating the patient experience into insights for local market teams
      • Flexible to travel based on business needs, including outside of normal working hours to attend events (e.g., weekend and nights), up to 50%
