      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Provide strategic guidance on policy, advocacy, and communication priorities through an Indigenous Gender-Based Analysis (IGBA) framework
      - Support the alignment of organizational strategy, policy analysis, and public communications to enhance ONWA’s influence
      - Build intergovernmental and community relationships to inform and shape public policy
      - Collaborate with teams to develop and implement policy, strategy, and communications plans
      - Mentor and supervise a team, ensuring the development of high-functioning and inclusive work environments

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Public Education, Women’s Studies, Indigenous Learning, or Social Science, combined with management experience
      - Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a not-for-profit organization, preferably in Indigenous contexts
      - Advanced knowledge of Indigenous public policy, advocacy strategies, and government processes at all levels
      - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
      - Valid Ontario “G” class driver’s license and ability to travel as required

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Fluency in an Indigenous language considered an asset
      - Experience in developing and managing program budgets and financial management
      - Demonstrated experience in writing proposals and managing contribution agreements
      - Understanding of communications and marketing strategies for advocacy and education
      - Strong commitment to the vision and values of ONWA
