      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Lead initiatives to expand the practice of dam removal and aquatic connectivity partnerships in the Great Lakes Region
      - Identify and develop new dam removal projects while managing high-priority initiatives
      - Collaborate with the National Dam Removal Program to grow the number of practitioners through training and shared resources
      - Manage grants and contracts, including oversight of consultants and tracking expenditures
      - Represent the employer at technical meetings and events, providing high-quality written communications

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Five or more years of professional experience in conservation, specifically related to river restoration and dam removal
      - Strong understanding of effective river restoration approaches and demonstrated interest in advancing dam removal
      - Experience in securing funding from government grants, foundations, or major donors
      - Proven project management skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities
      - Willingness and ability to travel as needed, including overnight trips

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in fisheries habitat, geomorphology, hydrology, or engineering
      - Creative problem-solving skills with a continual drive to improve program operations
      - Strong personal organization and time management skills
      - Transferable skills and experiences beyond the conservation sector
