About the Role
The Associate Director, Special Projects provides consultation, advice, and direct support to advance on projects and initiatives for the office of the Vice-President, Finance and Administration (VPFA), as directed by the VPFA and the Executive Director, VPFA Office. The Associate Director offers senior level vision and leadership for designated multiple complex and institutional-wide projects and initiatives identified in SFU’s overall strategic plan and ensures academic/research, financial, operational, and resources are optimized. The role manages all phases of the project lifecycle, from project planning, development to implementation, leading the delivery of regular project updates, communications and reporting.
We expect the successful candidate for this position to be self-motivated, require minimal supervision, excellent communication to all levels, and have the ability to analyze information needed to solve problems as the project moves along.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, Accounting or a related field, and five years of related experience in managing complex projects, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. PMP and/or accounting designations are preferred.
