JOB PURPOSE
Support to BD Team of Airport Sector in the preparation of bids for PPP model of airports development.
ORGANISATION CHART
Accountabilities Key Performance Indicators Scan and identify projects
Projects of interest to GMR’s airport business portfolio and once identified work on the bid to win the project.
• Prepare and circulate opportunity notes for review by senior management and facilitate decision making of bid / no bid Client interaction
For exchanging tender information and obtain clarifications / amendments for the issues identified to minimize project risks.
• Minimum risk loading in cost / reject a bid working due to unquantified project risk. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Risks being inevitable, identifying them and mitigating through work methodology, insurance, procurement strategy, over heads etc.
• Quantify all risk mitigation measures and price the same.
• NIL unquantified risks should be the target.
Establish viability & bid
Analyzing costs, revenues, risks, obligations, etc. so as to assure project profitability.
Project end analysis of P&L Bid workings & Documentation
Ensure that the bid submissions are in compliance with the tender requirements and GMR bid strategy
No bid rejections Team Development
Engage with the team members to motivate and foster teamwork, understand and address concerns and provide a collaborative environment for them to develop
Document bid learnings
At the end of each bid submission and result understand the result / performance of our submission and reasons for success / failure to win
• Parameters like cost, technical competence, selection of partners, other reasons / influences EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS
INTERNAL INTERACTIONS
Clients:(GHIAL, SEZ ,Airport city & JV Subsidiaries)
• Review/ Develop project proposals, presentations, feasibility analysis, & project planning along with the HOD’s.
• Update the CEO’s on the progress of works.
• Review budget & cash-flow of the projects along with contracts and finance team.
• Conduct regular site walks with the team to review the progress at sites and understand the issues on the job if any.
• Interact with the Corporate Relations team on issues relating to statutory approvals.
• Review compliance of security, Safety, Environment and general housekeeping provisions for the project.
• Identify & discuss with the team and consultants on value engineering opportunities at the conceptual stage as well as detail design stage.
GADL:
• Conduct review meeting with the team periodically.
• Interact with the business development team and provide necessary inputs (costing, resource plan, methodology etc.) for bidding of new projects with external clients.
• Interact with the team and encourage them for active participation in the knowledge sharing sessions for the projects/trainings completed by them.
• Interact with insurance to price insurance requirements
• Interact with procurement team to align strategy for the project and pricing support
• Interact with equipment bank to understand availability and costs
• Interact with legal department for assessing project’s legal risks, document clearance before submission
• Interact with project teams to understand how much the bidding strategy is in sync with practical situation
FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS
Should have work experience in design and project Management / execution of large Infrastructure project, Public utility Building or Institutional Buildings with a minimum project value of 1000Cr.
IRR as per guidelines is assured in every project bid other than where specifically approved
For PPP Projects, derive costing based on concept design, phasing of works and rate analysis
OTHER DIMENSIONS
Should have handled a multidiscipline project team of 70 plus.
Should have handled multiple small projects alternatively.
Should have an exposure to at least one Airport.
Sound leadership skills with emphasis on team building, strong negotiation and communication skills.
Projects across the world but pre-approved by management
At any time support up to five active bids
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
A Degree in Engineering with PG preferably.
Should be able to independently manage the projects and be a people oriented person.
Should be process driven and well versed with the project/construction management processes.
Exposure to FIDIC form of contracting
Good communication skills especially in English is compulsory
Well versed in the following:
Project development, Pre-concept feasibility studies.
Project Planning & Scheduling, Project delivery strategy and risk analysis.
Value engineering analysis & facilitating inputs at all stages of Design & construction.
Design management, Design Co-ordination & Integration of structural, MEP & IT services in design.
Conversant with the contract conditions.
Conversant with National Building Code of India (relevant segments), Local building regulations, Fire dept regulations for High rise buildings, Compliance to Statutory norms.
Projects Execution, Quality control, Procurement & Contract management, Change management.
Conversant with the green building norms, ISO and OSHAS standards.
Customer Relationship.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Minimum 20 Years of overall experience in Project Management /construction with at least 3 years as head of the project.
Out of the total experience has at least three years in the field of Business Development of projects and infrastructure works and held position as a second in command of BD vertical and has worked on bids of size Rs.50 crores and above.
