      Duties and Responsibilities of Associate Head Coach for Cross Country, Track and Field

      • Serve as Associate Head Men's and Women's Cross Country, Track and Field Coach reporting to the Head Cross Country/Track and Field Coach.
      • Assist head coach in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the track and field/cross country programs.
      • Strong knowledge of middle distance and distance event groups is preferred.
      • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the head coach with the recruiting, academic oversight, fundraising, social media and coordinating of camps and coaching clinics.
      • Maintain knowledge of NCAA/GLIAC rules and regulations.

      Education of Associate Head Coach for Cross Country, Track and Field

      • Bachelor’s degree, required
      • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, Fitness, or related program is preferred.

      Experience of Associate Head Coach for Cross Country, Track and Field

      • Two years of cross country, track and field coaching experience required at the professional, college or high school level.

      • Must have strong team building/management skills
      • Ability to work across academic and administrative departments in a cooperative manner
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to coordinate collaborative efforts
      • Demonstrated experience in program development, management, and leadership
      • Ability to interact with members of the public and media
      • Ability to supervise temporary staff
      • Understanding of the student-athletes' commitment to academics
      • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. occasionally
      • As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the NCAA and conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced to ensure compliance relative to those applicable duties.
