      How You Will Contribute

      Reporting to the Services organization, you will play a hands-on role in delivering network solutions and providing post-sales technical support. You’ll work closely with internal teams, service partners, and customers to ensure seamless deployment, reconfiguration, and ongoing improvements of Ciena’s solutions.

      • Lead solution delivery activities including remote deployment support, network migrations, and acceptance testing

      • Support partner engineers during deployments and act as an escalation point for technical queries

      • Review and validate Technical Deployment Package (TDP) content with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all details are clear and executable

      • Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Technical Support, and Field Service to resolve design or product-related issues

      • Maintain detailed as-built documentation for future upgrades and reference

      • Participate in customer kick-off calls and provide guidance to pre-sales teams to align network design with serviceability standards

      The Must Haves

      • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related discipline

      • Experience in a network engineering or related technical role

      • Basic theoretical and/or practical knowledge in one or more areas:

        • Layer 0/1 (SDH, DWDM, ROADM, Control Plane, etc.)

        • Layer 2-3 (IP protocols)

        • Scripting/DevOps (e.g., Python, Java, Ansible)

      • Strong customer service and communication skills, including fluency in German (native) and English (written and verbal)

      • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint)

      • Ability to manage multiple projects, analyse technical data, and translate designs into deployable solutions

      • Flexibility to travel (~25%) and support night-time maintenance windows (~25%)

      Assets

      • Experience collaborating in matrixed teams across functions like engineering, support, and field operations

      • Comfortable managing multiple projects and resolving technical issues under tight timelines

      • Strong documentation and process development skills

      • Availability to travel (~25%) and support night-time maintenance windows when required

      • Customer service-oriented mindset with a desire to build a technology-focused career
