What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide customer service and administrative support to the Underwriting department
- Gather and organize data from various sources for new and renewal business underwriting decisions
- Perform policy administration tasks, including processing quotes, issuances, renewals, and endorsements
- Maintain effective business relationships with internal and external customers throughout the underwriting process
- Utilize computerized systems for research, tracking, and information gathering
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience as an underwriting assistant or internship experience with an insurance carrier or agency preferred
- Familiarity with Workers' Compensation or Property & Casualty lines preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in underwriting or insurance-related roles
- Knowledge of insurance policy administration and regulatory guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
