      GENERAL FUNCTION

      Under the direction of the Executive Director of Healthy Living Initiatives, the Association Director is primarily responsible for the management of the Top 10 coalition. Specifically, the Association Director will ensure coalition chart of work and MCPHD grant deliverables are met. Coalition oversight will include data collection, invoicing, generating reports, monitoring outcomes, expanding partnerships, and executing communication strategies.

      KNOW HOW

      • This position requires a BA/BS degree in Public Health, Community Health, Health Promotion, or a related field, or its equivalent in experience, and 1-3 years experience in a public health/similar agency and a strong commitment to the YMCA philosophy and values. Additional education/certification and or related experience Must be able to stay current with trends in the field.
      • Well defined administration skills and proven abilities in the areas of grant management, partnership development, budgeting, conflict resolution, public relations, record-keeping average skills in Microsoft Office Suite required.
      • Must have skills in group facilitation, consensus-building and communication. The position requires continual pursuit of further education in the areas of public health, community engagement, and communication.
      • Must have or the ability to obtain required training and certification, including but not limited to CPR and First Aid.

      PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Manages and evaluates contract deliverables with MCPHD (data collection, record-keeping, documentation of expenses, invoicing and outcomes).
      • Complete annual reports to MCPHD. Annual reports are due within 45 days of the close of each funding year.
      • Support and advance a culture of health through building and maintaining a formal partnership of multi-sectoral stakeholders committed to leveraging resources, creating a shared vision for a healthy community, and commitment to the partnership itself.
      • Assist in developing and implementing an annual Top 10 Chart of Work.
      • Plan and carry out listening sessions in Marion County to gather insight and thoughts on public health from community members.
      • Conduct outreach and educational activities that reflect Top 10’s priority issues and that advance health equity, community engagement, and public health literacy. Emphasize the connections between social determinants of health and chronic conditions as well as a Health in All Policies approach to improving neighborhoods, communities, and the environment.
      • Develop and implement Top 10 communications plan, including: Engage in consistent, proactive, and creative communication activities to support the Top 10 Chart of Work priority areas. Update and enhance the Top 10 website. Coordinate with community collaborators to sync messaging and to leverage funds. Track impressions and reach.
      • Plan and executes Annual Campaign for Top 10 initiative, along with other center campaigns, as needed.
      • Shares responsibility for adherence to and development of the department budget with the Executive Director.
      • Build strong relationships with grant, coalition and community partners.
      • Recruit and maintain community volunteers to execute Top 10 coalition plans.
      • Assists in monitoring safety and privacy practices in all areas.
      • Shares responsibilities for public relations, planning and promotions as agreed.
      • Involved with other community groups in identifying and responding to community needs and issues.
      • Assists with any other projects or activities as may be required.
