- Lead the provision of technical solutions in the delivery and maintenance of a trust wide Automation Hub linking into the Intelligence Hub.
- Enable delivery of a consistent, technical solution for the automation of processes and data from key line of business systems across the trust.
- Underpin the effective use of automation and technology to support and improve health and health care delivery at the trust by managing automation tools, platform environment, system security, system planning and technical documentation.
- The post holder will provide specialist advice relating to the automation of NHS processes and data within the Automation Hub.
- Provide technical expertise and in depth understanding of NHS information from a variety of systems.
- To design and manage the creation and maintenance process of the automation tools and its processes.
- To deliver Business analysis, creation of PDDs, SDDs, design of as-is and to-be process design and development of actual processes through bots.
- Development and maintaining accurate documentation regarding the used by the Automation Tools.
- Identify scope, benefits, constraints, and risks for Intelligent Automation (IA) initiatives (including Robotic Process Automation (RPA)) capture and document current state manual processes.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to understand current processes, identify efficiency opportunities prior to automation and develop business requirements documentation of the process to be automated in a manner that is understood by the business users and can be shared with the Data Services Team and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Improvement and Transformation team on RPA opportunities, offering valuable guidance and support.
- Drive RPA adoption across the organisation, sharing the benefits and increasing understanding of the opportunities.
- Embrace a QI and Agile methodology/mindset in approaching developments, adapting style/approach to effectively support individuals through the change process.

- Degree or equivalent level qualification in a numerate/analytical discipline or equivalent industry experience and some amount of experience in an NHS RPA role
- PRINCE/AGILE project management skills
- Any AI/ML/RPA solution provider certification or qualification
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development, i.e. specialist IM&T training/study/research, attendance at relevant conferences/workshops
- Experience of enabling change in an organisational context, by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to people
- Knowledge and experience of Automation software (e.g., UIPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate)
- Business Analysis skills to capture, document and map business problems, identify opportunities for improvement
- Ability to translate the procedural steps to develop automated solutions that meet the customer's needs
- Experience of application of a range of investigative/business analysis and change management processes, tools and techniques
- Strong background in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders to drive business requirements
- Experience of developing business scenarios and user requirements, and the ability to understand technical architectures and messaging standards
- Technical understanding of business theories and practices for requirement gathering
- An understanding of team management, policies and procedures governing the organisational approach to managing staff
- Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and collaboration across all levels of the trust
- Understanding of Data Protection legislation and GDPR
- Experience of delivering Solutions using key NHS applications including ESR, ERS, TPP SystmOne, trac, NHS Jobs
- Understanding of the NHS and current agenda
- Experience of Microsoft Azure Synapse or Data Warehousing methodologies
- High level of personal motivation and dedication

The Data Services team are delivering a programme of technological improvement and dynamic data delivery. The role of Automation Analyst/Developer Lead (RPA) will sit within the team to help drive operational efficiencies, support standardisation of business processes and improve data quality.

Main duties of the job
The role will require an individual who has Business Analysis skills and the technical ability to configure automated solutions. They will need to be able to map out business processes, identify and eliminate unnecessary non-value adding steps and design automated solutions which streamline and improve efficiency of workflows. A good understanding of business problems will be required to implement solutions that balance the benefits with cost and time.
