      What is the role?


      The Administrative Support member will work under the direction of the Officer-in-Charge at Sydney International Airport to support the day-to-day activities of the Aviation Station. The role works closely with frontline members to support efficiency and effectiveness of administrative duties within the station, and liaises with internal and external stakeholders to maintain effective working relationships.

      This role acts as a point of contact for inquiries, escalations and general communications within the Airport, resolving queries and escalating matters where required. The member is expected to contribute to projects and teamwork-flow to ensure solutions and initiatives that deliver value-add outcomes.

      What will you do?


      As the Administrative Support member for Sydney International Airport, you will be required to:

      • Provide administrative, executive and project support to the OIC and aviation leadership at Sydney International Airport.
      • Manage and respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders and direct to relevant areas as required.
      • Perform a range of office management activities; equipment maintenance and reporting, mail services, general filing and ad-hoc complex projects.
      • Undertake finance tasking’s in relation to procurement, asset management, fleet management and asset control in line with AFP Governance Framework.
      • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing AFP operational activities.
      • Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate policies, processes and systems which enhance the delivery of AFP operational outcomes.
      • Encourages other team members to develop their own capabilities and assist with coaching and mentoring.
      • Demonstrate good judgement in decision making by exploring the nature of the problem, researching information, considering options, documenting evidence and providing recommendations.
      • Anticipate and support changes to priorities and suggest improved ways of working.

      What will make you successful in this role?


      To be a successful candidate for this role, sound written and verbal commination skills as well as strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively at all levels internally and externally is essential. The capacity to work calmly and methodically, in a fast-paced operational environment, with the ability to apply confidentiality, judgment and initiative to all situations, is vital in successfully performing this role.


      Candidates are required to exhibit efficient and effective time management skills, attention to detail and the ability to priorities work tasks in a high tempo and dynamic work environment. Candidates must also be equipped in recognizing methods to streamline efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day tasks.

      Essential Requirements

      • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
      • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
