      Schedule:

      AVID Tutors are required to work the same schedule every week, ideally on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or Tuesday through Friday. A typical schedule is somewhere between 5-16 hours of work per week.

      Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

      Minimum: $17.50 Maximum: $24.00

      Qualifications:

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      -Candidates are either currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution or a college graduate
      -Excellent communication skills
      -Organized, responsible, flexible, motivated, professional
      -Positive recommendations around attendance, attitude, and performance
      -Ability to commit to the entirety of the 2025-2026 school year (or at a minimum one semester)

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      -Previous experience working with diverse middle school or high school-aged youth
      -Previous AVID tutoring experience
      -Experience with small group facilitation
      -Proficiency or fluency in both English and Spanish languages
      -Previous experience working in a school setting or with school staff
      -Experience working with students in a pre-college or college readiness program

      Position Summary/Job Duties:

      RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

      -Support AVID scholars through facilitating small group tutorial sessions
      -Model inquiry, academic language, higher level thinking, and problem solving skills
      -Provide feedback on student work and group collaboration
      -Collaborate with a team of tutors and elective teachers to support scholars’ agency
      -Adhere to district/site policies and procedures
      -Engage in ongoing professional development
