      Overview

      The Area Vice President, Small Group oversees a team book of business, net growth and sales strategy/Branch Initiatives. In this role, the incumbent will develop account management strategy, goals and objectives, in coordination with executive management. Additionally, the Area Vice President, Small Group will manage an assigned staff, establishing a coaching and mentoring relationship with their team.


      How you'll make an impact

      Responsibilities/Duties:

      • Oversee a book of business for the team
      • Cultivate and maintain multiple relationships with clients, internal partners and vendor partners
      • Develop a complete understanding of the client’s needs and the appropriate coverage solutions that support and enhance the client’s culture, values and mission
      • Proactively manage the Client Service Cycle to ensure a seamless renewal, client retention and whitespace engagement
      • Manage escalated client issues to successful resolution in a manner consistent with Gallagher best practices
      • Support consultants in winning new business by effectively communicating Gallagher’s value proposition
      • Actively seek new business referrals from existing Gallagher Benefit Services (GBS) clients
      • Understand and communicate the availability of resources within Gallagher (Pharmacy Practice, Retirement, Gallagher Global Brokerage (GGB), HR Consulting and Voluntary Benefits)
      • Maintain up-to-date records in DMS
      • Comply with Gallagher’s processes and office initiatives
      • Complete training and professional development plan to gain understanding of the insurance industry and GBS processes
      • Exemplify highest ethical standards, promote ethical behavior and uphold the Gallagher Way

      Team Management:

      • Drive Gallagher client service processes, system adoption and adherence to professional standards across branch team
      • Accountable for team compliance with all GBS standards
      • Proactively adjust the workloads based on external and internal client needs and team members and consultants
      • Communicate performance expectations
      • Ensure team members have training and resources to achieve goals through ongoing coaching and development
      • Continuously assess the performance of team members. Provide ongoing, timely feedback and coaching to improve performance, including Performance Driven Culture (PDC) process, one-on-one meetings, appropriate job shadowing and Performance Improvement Plans

      About You

      Required:

      • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience required.

      Preferred:

      • Insurance industry experience
      • Appropriate licensing required
