- Being a visible, accessible and active figurehead for Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) across the Trust, and its system partners (in BNSSG and BSW ICBs).
- Working collaboratively with operational colleagues, and with the Clinical Lead for Mental Health Workforce, to shape and mature the Trust's ACP offer, helping to forecast how the ACP landscape will look in one, three and five years' time.
- Helping to ensure appropriate guidance, clinical governance, competency assessment and continuing education are in place, in line with the Multi-Professional Framework (HEE 2017).
- Evaluating the impact of the ACP role across the Trust, and articulating both the clinical and financial benefits of the role.

The successful candidate will play a leading role in Advanced Practice Oversight groups in developing, and implementing a multi-professional advanced practice strategy, and co-ordinate projects of work as identified by the working groups.
- Registered Clinical Practitioner (e.g. Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, etc.), with current professional registration
- Qualified to masters Level of Advanced Clinical practice or Equivalent (Credential/portfolio route)
- Post-registration CPD
- Mental health or LD specific experience
- Evidence of experience in effective leadership and risk management
- Able to apply and interpret national frameworks for delivery of Advanced practice improvement.
- Experience of working effectively across organisational and professional boundaries in complex organisations
- Evidence of experience in effective leadership and risk management
- Experience of working at strategic level
- Able to articulate an advanced understanding of relevant frameworks.
- Ability to identify, challenge, report and address sub-optimal practice and to lead on team-wide improvement

Fixed term contract / secondment opportunity for 12 months
We are delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for a Lead Clinician for Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) for the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will need to be a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner and will be responsible for leading on the development of education, training and workforce development opportunities in relation to advanced practice across the Trust.
The post holder will be required to identify a clear vision of how advanced practice can be developed across the Trust to ensure that they are in line with specific clinical pathways and wider system agendas, with the aim to maximise the workforce development investment available.

Main duties of the job
The Lead Clinician for Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) will be responsible for the Trust-wide leadership and implementation of AWP's ACP Framework, providing clinical leadership, supervision and support to qualified and trainee ACPs.
The post holder will work alongside the Nursing Careers and Professional Standards Team, engaging with colleagues across corporate functions (such as Learning and Development and the People Directorate) and our three operational divisions.
