      Overview

      This position is designated for the Men's Baseball Club coaches. They will be overseeing all facets of the USU Men’s Baseball Club pitching responsibilities.

      Responsibilities

      Must complete all required university trainings and paperwork prior to the start of the season –Title IX Training

      Protection of Minors Training

      USU Volunteer Paperwork

      Club Sports Paperwork

      Background check

      And any other trainings required by the club's governing body.

    • Conduct safe and organized practice sessions, oversee gameplay for skill development.
    • Enforce risk management policies and implement safety procedures.
    • Promote fair play and good sportsmanship.
    • Enforce conduct standards during club travel.
    • Facilitate participation for eligible USU students.
    • Familiarity with Club Sports Manual guidelines and adherence to university, conference, league, and association rules.
    • Represent the club positively and professionally.
    • Adhere to all laws, university policies, and Club Sports procedures.
    • Attend recruitment tournaments and events.
    • Coordinate travel plans with Campus Recreation and Student Affairs.
    • Assist in outreach for sponsorships and donors.
    • Collaborate on community engagement and game day operations.
    • Work on scheduling with the governing body for all club events.
    • Qualifications

      Qualifications:

    • Three or more years of experience coaching and/or playing baseball.
    • Able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
    • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    • Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
    • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
    • Cultural sensitivity and an ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce in multicultural settings.
    • Team player who excels at building trusting relationships with club team members and other coaches.
    • Dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success.

      This position requires moderate physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting. This position requires nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
