What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately submit claims and follow up with payers to ensure timely payment
- Appeal denials as required to maximize reimbursement
- Maintain accurate patient financial files, including documentation in both written and electronic formats
- Assist patients/guarantors in understanding claim payments in accordance with hospital financial policies
- Collaborate with team members to improve billing processes and patient satisfaction

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two to three years of prior collection experience
- Experience in medical billing and coding preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Availability for evening hours as required

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in substance abuse or psychiatric billing preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Familiarity with healthcare billing software and systems
