What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare and submit clean claims to third-party insurance carriers, Medicare, Medicaid, and copay assistance programs
- Process denied/rejected claims by correcting billing errors and resubmitting claims
- Communicate with pharmacists and staff to ensure all necessary information is in place prior to filing claims
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records and assist in compiling necessary reports
- Participate in pharmacy orientation programs and training as required
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- One to two years of relevant experience in billing or a related field
- Working knowledge of computer software, specifically Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Ability to accurately enter data into a computer system and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in pharmacy billing or claims processing
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements
- Ability to work through and solve problems independently
- Positive attitude and innovative mindset
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to work accurately under pressure
