      The Challenge (Job Summary)

      The CBO Team Lead is a key professional who is responsible for overseeing the billing and revenue cycle processes within the NOMS billing department. The role involves managing a team of billing specialists.

      Your Day to Day & Essential Functions:

      • You’ll perform scheduled audits on workflows with Medical Billers and reviewing the results with the Billing Manager.
      • You’ll develop and maintain knowledge in medical coding and/or insurance guidelines.
      • You’ll assign Medical Billers to insurance websites and necessary training.
      • You’ll have active communication with Billing Managers, Billing Directors, and Executive Management regarding staff issues, disciplinary action recommendations and daily or weekly (as needed) team member communications to include copying management on correspondence provided via e-mail to team members.
      • You’ll be responsible for approving all timesheets, PTO, and yearly performance reviews for your direct reports.
      • You will maintain a positive work atmosphere that embodies NOMS philosophy-professional excellence, teamwork and integrity.
      • You will perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
      • You will comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
      • You will assist Medical Billers with any patient or insurance phone calls pertaining to billing

      What You Need to Succeed (Competencies and Education):

      • Knowledge of NOMS policies and procedures
      • Knowledge of medical diagnostic coding system, medical terminology and insurance practices.
      • Verifiable ability to input data into computer system with reasonable speed and accuracy.
      • Ability to organize and process work efficiently.
      • Proven multi-tasking capability.
      • Knowledge of computer programs and applications
      • Ability to work under stress with frequent interruptions.
      • Ability to independently assume other responsibilities in addition to routine duties.
      • Must be a team player and self-motivator.

      Education and Work Experience:

      1. High school graduation or GED.
      2. Epic experience preferred but not required
      3. Healthcare experience required
      4. RHIT preferred but not required.
