      Job summary

      The successful candidate would be part of a community bladder and bowel team, supporting patients in their own homes, in clinic and across a variety of care settings. This is a developmental role and with support, they will be responsible for assessment and conservative treatment and management of a variety of patients with individualised needs and symptoms. They will work with and support the unregistered team members, forming part of a wider community MDT.

      Main duties of the job

      The Continence Nurse Advisor contributes to the provision of continence care within the continence specialist team. The post holder will focus attention on the assessment of continence for all patients irrespective of their dwelling.

      The role requires competence in specific areas of knowledge and nursing expertise and the ability to provide advice, education and support to carers, staff and patients, within the Department of Health, NMC, NICE and RCN guidelines.
