The San Diego County Clerk of the Board of Supervisors has a current opening forBOARD ASSISTANTBoard Assistants work in the department of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and handle a high volume of customer interactions, respond to queries by elected officials, County staff, the public and media. Board Assistants use a variety of automation systems and perform a variety of office duties, such as typing, filing, and distributing documents. Board Assistants must exercise independent judgment and must maintain a working knowledge of current relevant laws, regulations, and procedures as well as the ability to properly apply them.
Board Assistants coordinate and perform tasks of moderate difficulty, which require independent judgment, and a working knowledge of codes, rules and procedures pertaining to the unit and hearing boards; process and maintain Board records and files; provide County government related information to the Board of Supervisors, County employees, other governmental agencies, and the public.
Board Assistants must adhere to the highest standards of customer service, timeliness, productivity and accuracy in their work.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years of office experience, processing and maintaining records and files, handling high volume phone and counter contact, and using various automation systems.
Note: An associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency may substitute for the experience listed above.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be a U.S. citizen to serve as a U.S. Passport Agent. Some positions may be required to perform notary services. Any expenses associated with performing notary services for the County will be incurred by the County of San Diego.CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
