- Possess a MS degree in Agronomy, Informatics, Biology, or related scientific field with minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Have demonstrated 5 years’ experience in managing activities with strong data management skills and leading people, directly and/or by influence.
- Have mobility and flexibility to successfully oversee interactions with whole BTO team and external stakeholders.
- Have problem solving skills, must include organization and scheduling of multiple tasks, performance metric reporting, and data management among personnel involved in research, development, operations, and quality control.
- Have a cross functional and collaborative mindset; stakeholder alignment & management.
- Are able to travel up to 20% - domestic and international.

The Data Management Lead at BASF, located in RTP, NC will provide strategic and operational data management leadership to the Breeding, Trait Development and Operations (BTO) organization. Ensuring alignment with global business and BTO strategy, primary stakeholders within Seeds & Traits (S&T) R&D, data stewardship requirements, data systems optimal use, and to incorporate and implement critical data management practices that enhances R&D pipeline efficiency and decision-making.
You will be fostering a culture of innovation, implementation of new tools, software/hardware evaluation, continuous improvement in current processes, engaging with external innovation communities, and maintaining strong cross-functional networks inside and outside BTO. • Strategically planning and optimizing process and assess and adapting novel tools and technologies to improve data management. Drive the adoption of new software, technology, equipment, and method advancements to support field trial execution, data quality, accelerated selection, and advancement. • Building and maintaining, relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximize innovation and technology contribution.
• Ensuring effective communication and alignment with the S&T Strategy and R&D stakeholders.
