- Our team provides budget and policy analysis counsel to the Governor, state agencies, and state legislature.
- We analyze economic and demographic data to inform decisions and maintain a balanced budget.
- We provide state agencies with services to support stewardship of public resources and prudent decision-making. This includes tools to improve operational efficacy through data and evidence, such as strategic planning, performance management, and impact analysis.
- And we support agencies' financial control structures such as grants management, internal audits, and the oversight committee for retired state employees' health benefits.
- Our office is also home to the state fraud hotline, where any citizen can report suspected misuse of public resources.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to agencies in carrying out their delegated responsibilities related to budget management.
- Monitor and evaluate budget adjustment requests within the framework of the State Budget Act, relevant state and federal legislation, and rules and policies.
- Oversee agency budgets and expenditures to ensure a balanced budget.
- Analyze expenditures and revenues and propose solutions to structural budget shortfalls to ensure that the Governor's Recommended Base Budget is an accurate plan for the upcoming biennium.
- Communicate with assigned Agency's on budget and technical inquiries.
- Demonstrate curiosity and the ability to think critically to make connections that others miss and to use this skill to assist leadership, staff, and agencies to identify and solve problems.
- Work independently with supervision to exercise discretion, demonstrate integrity, and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and accounting; budget and program analysis.
- Experience in interpreting or implementing state, local, or federal budget laws and policies.
- Demonstrated skills in researching, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing complex data, identifying findings, and making recommendations.
- Proficiency in organizing and presenting clear oral and written reports using the Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).

The Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) is excited to announce that we are seeking Budget Execution Analyst candidates! This is a continuous job posting to recruit for State Budget Management Analyst I's and will accept online applications regardless of whether there is a current vacancy.

Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, public policy or related field from an accredited institution and two (2) years of experience preferably in governmental accounting or budgeting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
