      JLL is hiring a Building Operator for one of it's key national accounts in downtown Vancouver. The Building Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of building HVAC, electrical, Life Safety and all auxiliary equipment as well as some project work. The building requires a certified operator with either 5th Class Refrigeration or 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.

      The role is Monday-Friday and will have on-call and after-hours coverage as required. The ideal candidate is technically competent in building maintenance and general repairs and is a strong communicator and customer oriented. Additionally, we look for operators with experience or interest with sustainable building practices and energy conservation initiatives to contribute to the buildings Net Zero goals.

      WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

      • Operate and maintain all building systems and equipment, including but not limited to; HVAC, Security, Life Safety, plumbing and electrical

      • Respond quickly and efficiently to all Tenant and Property Management requests

      • Perform preventative maintenance and regular repairs with minimal supervision

      • Perform programming, scheduling and computer entries using Building Automation, Security, Life Safety and in house computerized systems

      • Ensure proper and efficient operation of all electrical, mechanical and fire/life safety systems

      • Frequent lifting, carrying of equipment and tools as required

      • Exposure to hazardous situations and/or substances (with protective clothing/equipment available)

      • Periodic outdoor work including plaza, patio & cooling tower maintenance

      • Works closely with all building trades and service suppliers

      WHAT YOU BRING :

      • Must hold in good standing, a British Columbia Certificate of Qualification. At minimum Refrigeration Operator Certificate (5th Class Refrigeration), preference given to holders of a 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate, and with a combined level of experience/education in Commercial office building operations.

      • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in commercial building operations (including but not limited to, a variety of computerized and hands on HVAC, water treatment programs, Building Automation Systems, Security, electrical, plumbing, general and preventative maintenance) specific to class A and AAA office buildings.

      • Experience with sustainable building practices, energy conservation initiatives and Net Zero goals.

        BOMA e-Energy and other Decarbonization & Net Zero Certifications.

      • Vehicle required (staff parking available at all sites)

      • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills;

      • Strong computer skills

      • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

      • Must be alert and perceptive and able to resolve problems/emergencies

      • Strong requirement for attention to work tasks

      • Team player is essential

      Estimated total compensation for this position:

      75,000.00 – 85,000.00 CAD per year
