      Overview:

      The Bulk Lead is responsible for providing leadership to the Bulk team, overseeing the overall organization, atmosphere, and staffing needs of the department. They delegate tasks, ensure department standards are consistently met, and maintain a productive, positive work environment for staff. The Bulk Lead also ensures exceptional guest care, satisfaction, and upholds the aesthetic and quality of the Bulk Department. In addition to their leadership role, this individual actively participates in all Bulk Department tasks, serving as a role model for the team. This position is also responsible for the timely and accurate replenishment of inventory, using tools such as HL software, auto-order, cycle counts, and data reports to meet purchasing and budget goals.

      Requirements

      Education:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent

      Experience:

      • At least 2 years in a retail environment
      • Previous leadership experience
      • Previous cash handling & POS experience
      • Previous buying, inventory management or equivalent experience
      • Previous guest service experience
      • Previous grocery experience preferred


      Location: 129 Market St. Williston, VT

      Pay: Hourly pay rate starts at $18.50-$20.00, previous experience will be considered

      Hours: This is a (40-hour) full-time position with expectation of working 1 opening shift, 1 closing shift, and 1 weekend shift weekly.


      Responsibilities:

      In the Bulk department, the bins and shelves are consistently and abundantly stocked by operations staff with the Bulk Lead’s assistance and direction. The Bulk Lead pays meticulous attention to inventory levels, backstock and cycle counts. The Bulk Lead understands inventory movement and makes decisions based on data in conjunction with a close working relationship with the Center Store Manager. The Bulk Lead fully understands the importance and urgency of speed-to-shelf, proper rotation, cycle counts and prioritizes new product placement and resets.

      The Bulk Lead is devoted to a CLEAN department, realizing that the nature of Bulk is messy and constant cleaning is going to be necessary! Staff are trained and managed to keep our Bulk Department interesting, easy to navigate, clean as a whistle, and FULL of the products guests want.

      • Leads and motivates the Bulk staff
      • Ensures that staff follows all department and store policies and procedures
      • Troubleshoots staff call-outs; attempts to find coverage or shifts people into positions of priority, if needed.
      • Communicates any staff issues or problems to the Center Store Manager and P&E
      • Ensures staff remains busy throughout shift, including downtime, and that they are working safe
      • Maintains and delegates cleaning tasks in the Bulk Department
      • Trains new staff members and provides ongoing training to current Bulk staff; including but daily task lists, appropriate sanitation and cleaning procedures
      • Assists with all training manuals and updates to task lists, cleaning procedures, policies, as needed
      • Completes replenishment ordering for all vendors in designated departments and/or categories
      • Maintains accuracy of inventory and cycle counts
      • Maintains strong vendor relationships and communication
      • Tracks product performance trends and sales and relays pertinent facts to the Category Manager
      • Tracks product movement as well as "out of stocks" on the shelf and relays pertinent information to the Category Manager
