- Identify, analyse, interpret and document functional and non-functional requirements
- Work with product owners/managers and business stakeholders to identify and manage gaps, determining the effectiveness of proposed solutions and ensuring solutions meet business requirements
- Work closely with stakeholders to conduct holistic impact and risk assessments
- Provide support and participate in testing activities including unit testing, BA testing, system testing and Business Verification Testing ensuring adequate project coverage
- Facilitate workshops, questioning with confidence, seeking genuine understanding and providing constructive challenges to discover improved approaches
- Must have exposure to financial crime (AML/CTF, Transaction monitoring, ECDD, Customer screening)
- Must have exposure with data handling and workflow tools
- Understanding of data flows, S2T (source to target) mapping of data contracts and data environments - Good to have
- Capturing and grooming requirements into epics, features, user stories and dependencies in collaboration with the squads that aligns with business requirements.
- Demonstrated understanding of both business and technical requirements, providing innovative solutions effectively
- You are collaborative and known for your honest, transparent approach to your people interactions.
- Understanding of agile methodologies in project environments. Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
- Ability to confidently communicate and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels of business and to drive positive outcomes
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise conflicting demands and deliver results when under time/resource pressures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- You have the ability to navigate through ambiguity, evolving requirements with flexibility and agility
- Open to working with multiple squads of work/projects (including multi-year) simultaneously

Group Operations is the engine room of the CBA Group dedicated to running, improving and transforming the processes that deliver products, services and productivity benefits to the CBA Group’s customers.
Our Regulatory and Control Operations Team (RACO or Financial Crime Operations) are accountable for leading a complex and diverse shared service for Financial Crime Operations across CBA.
Your team
RACO is a team of dedicated professionals and we collaborate closely with financial crime compliance and Business Aligned Risk teams across the group. It is a scale, growing operation that has extensive Transformation plans and focus within the organisation. Our external stakeholders are AUSTRAC, ASO and Law Enforcement. We work together to detect, deter and disrupt financial crime.
The team works across multiple Business Units, spanning multiple global locations and multiple financial crime disciplines such as Anti-money laundering/Transaction Monitoring, Payments Sanctions Screening, Customer Sanctions Screening, Pep Screening, Enhanced Customer Due Diligence of High-Risk customers, on-boarding, on-going due diligence and maintenance and Law Enforcement Agency Notices.
Your Impact & Contribution
As a Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between the business and technical teams and translate requirements into user stories, while reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational and financial risks.
