As a Business Analyst within the Global Supply Chain and Transportation Procurement (GSCTP) organization, you will drive data-driven insights across transportation spend analytics and procurement optimization. This role combines deep analytical capabilities with strategic sourcing expertise to optimize transportation costs, improve operational efficiency, and support procurement decisions across all transportation modes.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead strategic transportation procurement initiatives including RFP analysis, bid optimization, and rate card development while providing data-driven insights for carrier negotiations.
- Analyse complex transportation spend data and market conditions across modes to identify cost savings opportunities, spending patterns, and develop strategic sourcing recommendations.
- Design, build and maintain automated dashboards and scorecards tracking key performance metrics including carrier compliance, service levels, and contract performance.
- Partner with procurement teams to optimize carrier selection and lane assignments, translating complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations.
- Support leadership decision-making through deep-dive analysis of transportation trends, market dynamics, and operational performance metrics.
About the team
GSCTP is a global team responsible for procurement related activities which include supporting and/or leading small to large scale sourcing events and contract negotiations. Works closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and to ensure that all supplier related activities meet cost, capacity and service goals.- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic SQL knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to organize data sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Academic projects or internship experience in data analysis, supply chain, or procurement
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence interaction, such as prompt generation and open AI's
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience with statistical analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of transportation or logistics industry

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
