      Business Analyst Position Summary:

      The Business Analyst plays a crucial role in leveraging our data assets to drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. This position will focus on analyzing business needs related to Dental Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data and translating those needs into actionable insights using modern data platforms like Azure Data Lakehouse and Databricks, visualized through Power BI. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental/healthcare data workflows, excellent analytical and investigative skills, and hands-on experience with cloud-based data solutions.

      What You'll be Doing as Our Business Analyst:
      • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments, including operations, IT, and leadership, to understand business objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.
      • Analyze complex Dental EDI data, identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies to provide valuable insights into claims processing, revenue cycle management, and operational performance.
      • Work with healthcare-related data sources, ensuring data quality, integrity, and accuracy for analytical purposes.
      • Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation, including business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, use cases, process flows, data flow diagrams, and other relevant artifacts.
      • Design, develop, and maintain data models and ETL/ELT pipelines within the Azure Lakehouse environment, utilizing Databricks for data processing and transformation.
      • Monitor and analyze system performance and data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for process improvement related to EDI transactions.
      • Create compelling and interactive data visualizations and dashboards using Power BI to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Participate in the design and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
      • Contribute to the development and execution of data-driven strategies and initiatives.
      • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Dental EDI, healthcare data analytics, and cloud-based data technologies.
      • Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
      • Effectively communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders and business requirements to technical teams.
      • Develop and execute test plans and test cases to validate that implemented solutions meet the defined requirements.
      • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business needs.
      • Assist with user training and the development of user documentation.
      • Maintain appropriate confidentiality in working with sensitive data/information from both internal/external sources.

      What You'll Bring to the Team as a Product Analyst:
      • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
      • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the dental or healthcare industry.
      • Strong understanding of Dental EDI standards, transactions (837, 835, 276/277, 270/271, 275), and clearinghouse processes.
      • Experience working with healthcare data, including claims data, patient data, and provider data.
      • Proven experience with cloud-based data platforms, specifically Azure Lakehouse (including Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Synapse Analytics, or similar).
      • Hands-on experience with Databricks for data engineering, processing, and analysis (PySpark, SQL).
      • Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, dashboard creation, and report generation.
      • Solid SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
      • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
      • Strong investigative skills.
      • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
      • Strong communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
      • Experience with data modeling concepts and techniques.
      • Advanced proficiency in all MS Office applications and use of the internet.
      • Ability to successfully multitask with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
      • Working knowledge of technical and procedural aspects and functions.

      Preferred Skills:
      • Experience with other Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, native Azure version control tools).
      • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HIPAA, HL7).
      • Experience with statistical analysis tools and techniques.
      • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
      • Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.


      Pay range $80,000 - $93,000 annually DOE.
