      We are seeking a dynamic and self-starting individual to join the Health Business Unit within the Commercial Healthcare and Life Sciences (HCLS) team for a paid, full-time (10 week) summer internship (40 hours/week). Positions are available in our offices in Princeton, NJ or Washington, DC, or remote . In this role, you will help Mathematica expand business development opportunities in Commercial healthcare and life sciences markets.

      As a Business Development Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

      • Engage in proactive business development by interfacing with leading health and technology companies, federal and state government policy makers, and major foundations and philanthropic donors.
      • Conduct active outreach to potential partners and stakeholders.
      • Collaborate on business development materials such as pricing sheets and marketing materials.
      • Participate in meetings with senior management and leading scholars throughout Mathematica’s offerings.
      • Work with project teams to develop written business and functional requirements.
      • Support project delivery success through assisting with project management activities.
      Responsibilities include:
      • Assisting with contact database maintenance.
      • Drafting correspondence, assembling presentation materials, recording notes for meetings, and documenting findings in One Note or other collaboration tools.
      • Conducting independent research on topics related to strategic goals including new technologies, corporate mergers and acquisitions in healthcare and life sciences, and investment firms with health and fitness portfolios.
      • Conducting competitive intelligence research and gathering information on current and prospective clients, competitors, and partners.
      • Assisting in proposal development for new business development opportunities.
      • Gathering, documenting, and sharing written business and functional requirements, and assisting with project management support functions using Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence.
