      Job Purpose and Impact

      The Ocean Transportation China BD Manager’s key role is to grow our cargo book by developing customers in China. In this role, you will participate in Ocean freight selling to the company's new and existing customers, selling directly or indirectly through various sales channels. You will also need to assess customer needs and suggest appropriate tailor-made freight solutions whenever needed.

      Key Accountabilities

      60% Develop China customers for global freight team
      - Focus developing new customers with dry bulk cargo into and out of China from/to Continent / WC and ECSAM / Africa / Australia.
      - Develop customers with parcel and project cargo into and out of China.
      - Maintain the long term and mutually beneficial relationship with existing Coal / Fertilizer / Coke / Grain / iron ore and other China customers.
      - Keep eyes on market changes for new trade flow and be able to catch up potential business opportunities.

      30% Team player
      - Build strong relationship with internal teams including Cape, Pmx, Geared, Tanker and analysis team in OT Singapore and Geneva offices.
      - Regularly share China commodity and freight market information internally.

      10% Tonnages/ESD development
      - Develop China local owners for long term tonnages opportunities and involve Energy Saving Devices projects.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Mini 5 years in marketing or trading team of dry bulk Shipping company
      • Bring in new qualified China customers with long haul business (Back Haul will be preferrable)
      • Trackable good reputation in shipping market
      • Strong network in industry (good relationship with commodity trading houses / miners / steel mills / power plants / cement plants)
      • Customer driven mindset: Understand customer’s need, be able to manage customers’ needs and expectations
      • Good level of soft skills i.e. open mind / transparency /strong communication skills /resilience/down to earth etc,.
