- Strong organization, communication and time management skills
- Advanced reach out skills (including: "Getting past the gatekeeper," and quick to establish rapport), generate conversations off-script, comfortably interact with mature business owners.
- Experience using Excel and Salesforce would be a plus.
- Work Ethic: Works proactively, persistence, efficient, self-directed, extraordinary work ethic
- Intellectual Curiosity: Able to qualify leads by piecing together information to develop a view on the business, interested in improving processes and experimenting.
- Research companies using a variety of public and internal tools to gather contact details and other relevant information
- Evaluate companies against our qualitative and quantitative acquisition criteria
- Establishing relationships with decision makers of acquisition targets using various outreach methods (e-mail, LinkedIn, calls, video calls, in-person meetings) and booking meetings for account executives within CORA
- Proactively following up with business owners and executives that are seeking to sell their business.
- Developing industry knowledge
- Record keeping and deal flow tracking through Salesforce
- Ultimately sourcing deals: Signing Non-Disclosure Agreements ("NDAs") with these qualified leads to obtaining financial and operational information.
- Liaising with senior M&A and operational leaders within the CORA organization to build acquisition approaches and strategies with individual prospects
- A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field is preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience in sales, business development, or a related field preferred.
- Strong sales and business development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- The ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- An understanding of financial and business metrics.
- Familiarity with the software industry, in particular, vertical market software. This includes an understanding of the key players, market trends, and the specific challenges and opportunities within the industry.
- Gathering and documenting research into Salesforce.
- Consistently book multiple substantive calls with business owners every day.
- Follow up to ensure that information requests get fulfilled for all qualified prospects.
- Present qualified acquisition candidates to Account Executives alongside research details.
- Conduct industry research to identify attractive markets.
