      Business Intelligence Developer
      Glasgow

      As a Barclays Business Intelligence Developer, you’ll play a key role in helping shape and deliver the long term strategy of the department, both in terms of new application delivery and in migrating applications from legacy systems to modern technologies. Focusing on data transformation by Utilising MSSQL, JS, HTML5, Rest API’s, QlikSense and Business Objects, you’ll
      contribute to projects and platform enhancements. With emphasis on both technical and communication skills you’ll work closely with several teams and figures.

      What will you be doing?
      • Analysing new requirements to find the most appropriate technical solution and contribute to the overall system design
      • Taking responsibility and ownership of new feature development and document designs and communicate them with the team
      • Working on all aspects of analysis, design, implementation and deployment of all software, related to the core data applications
      • Focusing on good code quality and high test coverage and actively participate in code reviews with a solid appreciation of development best practices
      • Designing and implementing applications and data flows, for accuracy, timeliness, quality and control
      • Contributing to the delivery of complex projects in collaboration with global teams across Barclays, to develop new or enhance existing systems
      • Setting up and managing development meetings with application leads and business unit users and coordinate internal testing with QA team members
      • Providing ongoing support and training to wider team with upskilling in core reporting technologies

      What we’re looking for:
      • SQL development including experience of designing, optimising and maintaining a transactional or datawarehouse system
      • Database queries optimisation, writing efficient functions, stored procedures, complex database queries and data modelling
      • Expertise in data processing platforms and data transformation (I.e. Ab Initio, Data Stage, Informatica, BI Tools), Hands-on experience on Data Mapping, Data Lineage and Data Integration
      • End to end application development with Business Intelligence tooling (QlikSense, Business Object, Tableau or other)

      Skills that will help you in the role:
      • DevOps, source control, unit and integration testing, continuous integration, release management, and other software development practices (Jenkins preferred)
      • Experience of other DB technologies such as Mongo, Maria, Aurora or PostgreSQL
      • Experience with one or more of the following: HTML5, CSS, Angular, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Node, PowerShell, Cloud (AWS, Azure)
      • A degree in a technical, science, engineering, or mathematical discipline
