- Req#: R0100546
- Design, develop, review, re-factor, and maintain Power System software with quality and performance in mind. Analyze and understand customer engineering, business and software requirements, propose effective and efficient solutions.
- Collaborate on planning, development, and testing to meet “definition of done” criteria. Support software releases and assists onsite/support team with expert knowledge, problem analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of defects as required to bring issues to closure.
- Identify and manage risks for schedule and quality with the team and ask for help when needed. Be inquisitive. Try new things. Fail fast when needed. Help others learn from mistakes. Be effective in reflection, retrospection, and constant incremental improvement.
- Support and mentor junior developers in the team. Review and refactor their code. Use agile development methodologies that require active participation in all team duties.
- Must be willing to travel for short periods of time to visit or support customers around the world. Train and mentor others on how to test software and how to apply proven testing methodologies, improve software quality and reduce quality risks
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree from four-year college or university with special emphasis on Power System and software skills. Ph.D will be a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience working on Power System software development, debugging, and performance tuning. Demonstrated programming skills in high performance, high programming level languages such as C/FORTRAN/C++.
- Strong knowledge and experience working with power system modeling and simulation, analysis and operation, optimization, and numerical analysis methodology and Linux and Windows development environments.
- Familiar with Automatic Generation Control, Economic Dispatch, Load Flow, Contingency Analysis, State Estimation, and Power Systems Simulators etc. are desirable.
- Hands-on experience with Generation Control (Automatic Generation Control and Economic Dispatch), Energy Management System (EMS) applications, Network analysis, Operator Training Simulator is desirable.
- Solid theoretical background in Numerical Analysis Methods, Optimization Techniques, and Power System Modeling and Operation is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience working in an Agile development environment is desirable. Ability to interact effectively with team members, product management, and customers.
- Knowledge in model prototyping using optimization toolkits or machine learning / AI packages or BI (Business Intelligence) tools will be a plus. Ability to effectively present information to and get information from peers, product management, project team, sales, customers, management and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
