      As Business Risk & Control Manager this is an excellent opportunity to be part of the team helping to shape and improve the effectiveness of Business Risk Management in Santander London Branch (SLB) within the First Line of Defence (FLOD) of the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB)

      In this role you will be responsible for supporting, educating, and promoting effective risk management in SLB, with a focus on Banking & Corporate Finance (‘BCF’) and Global Transactional Banking (‘GTB’) functions

      This is a new role within this business area and will allow you the scope to grow the role and, effectively shape how the business area will develop,

      • Supporting the SLB business in the management of non-financial risks

      • Developing and implementation of control testing and evaluation framework

      • Interacting with all relevant areas of the bank, in particular Business and RAC senior management

      • Understanding internal customers’ needs and consistently strive to provide the highest standards of service, deliver on promises, and exceed customer expectations

      • Owning the Banking Control Framework, developing it over time through Annual Review

      • Focusing on increasing % of automated and preventative controls, monitoring and reporting progress.

      What you’ll bring.

      • Excellent Banking, and/or Global Transactional banking experience or knowledge in a regulated Wholesale financial services context, preferably within a tier 1 Investment Banking/ Wholesale Banking organisation.

      • Practical experience in and understanding of the components of an operational risk management framework, the toolkits available and how they apply practically in a business setting to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

      It would also be nice for you to have.

      • Experience in leading small change programmes effectively, to time and budget

      • Experience in automation/simplification programmes.

      • Experience in 1st Line Risk Role – Data skills Data Automation Data Digitisation.
