Business Solutions Specialist

What can you expect?

• This is a non-IT role, comprising aspects of subject matter expert (SME), product owner, business analyst, tester and administrator.
• You will be a SME on external portals, internal administration systems and the integrations between them, so that you can:
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day system, website and technical issues on behalf of business.
  • Write and manage requirements for “run the business” / “business as usual” tickets and small projects.
  • Act as SME and user acceptance tester for medium- to large-scale projects, working with IT Business Analyst.
• Manage operational tasks such as data requirements for reporting and mailing projects and updates to client policies and documents.

We will count on you to:

• Develop subject matter expertise on websites and internal systems
• Troubleshoot day-to-day system, website and technical issues on behalf of Business
• Liaise with Business to collect requirements for system enhancements and fixes
• Document website and system requirements and communicate to development team
• Perform user acceptance testing on specific projects, website and system enhancements and fixes
• Manage and supply data requirements for various reporting and mailing projects
• Assume responsibility for document management of client policies, booklets and other printed and web- or system-based materials.
• Assist with tracking and administration of information technology tasks in task management system.
• Work collaboratively with team to identify, test, and implement solutions for system issues.
• Work on departmental projects, process improvement activities and departmental initiatives designed to achieve higher service levels and increased productivity.

What you need to have:

• Post-secondary education in science, math, business-related, or similar
• Exceptional computer skills including intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload in a constantly changing environment.
• Proven organizational, negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Self-motivation and willingness to work toward both personal and team targets.

• A group insurance background would be a major asset.
• Work experience in an analytical, testing or project delivery-based environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Office product skills, including experience with data management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
