      Location – Mumbai, India

      Role Description

      Cash Management Operation is one of the significant revenue contributors in India. The Head of Payment - Domestic and Cross Border position is a senior management position in Operations. The position holder through the management of a team is responsible to support client and meeting regulatory and compliance requirements for Cash Operations in India.

      Your key responsibilities

      The staff is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all types of payments Domestic and Cross border, as well as the handling of investigations and related regulatory compliance. The candidate is expected to have sound knowledge of Foreign Exchange Management Act (Current and Capital account transaction) for cross border payment processing in India. This includes the processing of time-critical, complex transactions on behalf of the Bank’s internal and external clients, cash-related investigations involving enquiries from clients and internal stakeholders. It often involves complex or in some cases regulated tasks including interaction with clients, internal and external stakeholders. The staff undertakes monitoring of complete and accurate capturing of payment transactions, ensuring that all payment-related information and relevant parties are processed according to established Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and regulatory guidelines.

      The candidate should be familiar with regulatory requirements regarding Domestic and Cross border transaction including Nodal Account operations and compliance requirements. In addition, the staff must ensure that procedures are properly documented to reduce processing risk and identify potential areas for process improvement whether internally within the Bank or for our clients.

      Staff may need to deal with the escalation and remediation of client complaints as well as managing relationships with the front office and other internal and external parties at an appropriate level.

      • Lead the efforts and all possible initiatives to constantly improve the STP rates in payments and Cash management operations with direct impact on the Cut of Time offer proposed by the Bank to Clients.
      • Make sure all operational procedures and permanent controls are well in place harmonized and enforced across all products.
      • Contribute and coordinate with IT teams / Operation Engineer team onto new systems/features deployment impacting cash management while guaranteeing the proper execution of operations eg digitalization initiatives, regulatory rollouts etc. Constantly work on process improvisation and efficiency initiatives.
      • Contribute in the roll out of new processes and adoption of operational controls in line with updates or changes in Group Compliance/ Regulatory Requirements as it impacts Cash Management Operations.

      Stakeholder management

      • Work with Mumbai Domestic Payments team to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
      • Governance over DIPL/3rd party vendor teams responsible for execution of transactions and related work.
      • Co-ordinate with internal stakeholders such as Front Office, Compliance, Central Treasury Team etc.
      • Collaborate with Cash Products and Technology teams to run and implement Transformation Projects.

      Your skills and experience

      • Graduate/Post Graduate Degree from a reputed university.
      • 15+ years of experience in managing large teams for Domestic & Cross Border Payments.
      • Proven track record of delivering operational excellence and in driving collaboration across multi-product and functional teams, in context of varied local regulations, market practices, technologies and processes.
      • Experienced leader with proven ability in managing stakeholder relationships across Front Office, Mid and BackOffice teams.
      • Leadership skills which enable the candidate to successfully influence peers, direct and indirect reports.
      • History of leading complex execution impacting product, function, process and technology related changes. Proven track record in successfully leading complex and critical transitions.
