      The Maintenance Buying Clerk performs various administrative functions involved with the purchasing of indirect materials, parts, services, chemicals, etc. The position supports the efforts of the Parts Room and Technical Teams to have all required goods and services for the successful operation of the Waverly facility.

      Schedule:

      • Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility, and the employee must be willing and able to work days or nights.

      Pay Rate:

      • $21.62-$28.11 based on experience
      • $0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 6:00pm-6:00am
      • $1.00 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday

      Responsibilities

      • Prepare, issue and follow up on various requests for quotes and prepare requisitions as needed. As well as prepare various work scopes for service work, contract and general parts identification.
      • Maintain purchase agreement files and follow up on quote returns as well as purchase agreement returns, confirmations and PO status.
      • Assist the Purchasing Supervisor and Storeroom Clerks by reviewing the various documents such as the AP List, no confirmation report, overdue purchase order list, etc. and expediting as required.
      • Interact, both in person and on the phone, with various vendor contacts, corporate, and purchasing teams in other LFC plants with a high customer focused and positive attitude that represents the core values of Leprino Foods and the Waverly facility.
      • Track inventory accurately including data entry, inventory counts, and incoming/outgoing parts records.
      • Ship parts for repair and track status of repairs.
      • Pick-up parts from vendors by driving company truck.
      • Move parts by operating forklift.
      • Continuously review the workflow of the department and implement recommendations to improve and expedite process flow, parts turn-around, etc.
      • Perform all duties in a safe manner, while complying with all applicable safety policies.

      Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

      • High School Diploma or GED
      • Minimum of one (1) year experience working in purchasing, buying, or accounting role
      • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
      • Familiar with industrial operations, preferably dairy or food manufacturing.
      • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
      • Familiarity or ability to learn SAP and Maximo, or similar integrated manufacturing systems
      • Able to read, write and perform intermediate mathematical calculations
      • Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and vendors, both verbally and in writing
      • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy
      • Action-oriented with assertive follow up abilities

      Work Environment Description:

      • Works in an office setting and is generally sedentary, but may involve movement (e.g., walking, standing, or otherwise being mobile throughout the office) for brief periods of time.
      • May be required to occasionally independently move and handle objects up to 25 pounds.
      • The employee must be able to read/write and perform basic arithmetic in order to understand the S.O.P.’s, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safe work practices.
      • May occasionally work in production environment with fast moving equipment and variety of temperatures from hot to cold.
