What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Place and receive phone calls to/from patients to collect payments for medical expenses
- Collect and document demographic, insurance, and relevant information from patients
- Engage in active listening to confirm or clarify information and address patient concerns
- Educate patients on the healthcare revenue cycle and available repayment programs
- Follow compliance processes and refer patients to other departments as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service role
- Minimum of 1 year of experience contributing to a team culture of learning and growth
- Basic understanding of contact center processes and techniques
- Exposure to collections industry, healthcare revenue cycle, and medical insurance and billing terminology
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in the collections industry
- Familiarity with medical insurance and billing processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle management
