What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Abstract specific patient information from various resources, including medical records, and code information into a database
- Maintain and edit data for accuracy and completeness in accordance with prescribed protocols
- Maintain record-keeping systems and procedures for clinical studies
- Ensure compliance with standards for the Commission on Cancer (CoC) and National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC)
- Collaborate with the Supervisor of Cancer Registry to support departmental goals
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Completion of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology courses required
- Two (2) years of experience as a Cancer Registrar is preferred
- CTR certification or CTR eligibility required
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical trials is required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of standards for Commission on Cancer (CoC) and National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) preferred
- Ability to obtain CTR certification within 2 years of hire or date transferred into position
