      What you’ll be doing

      When you join our Career Accelerator Program (CAP) you will kickstart your career and gain the experience necessary to excel in diverse and impactful roles at a leading Canadian financial institution. CAP is an 18-month rotational program with three 6-month rotations that offers significant flexibility for you to carve your own path that aligns with your personal and professional goals and is an excellent opportunity to launch your career journey.

      As an CAP Associate you will take on rotations in a variety of areas within CIBC’s Information Security Teams (Access Management, Cyber Operations and Cloud Security etc... ) based on personal interest and business demand. Throughout your rotations, you will develop knowledge around the countless roles, responsibilities and inter-dependencies found within Information Security at CIBC through challenging assignments and rotation experiences all to inform where your career will take you post program at CIBC.

      In addition to your day-to-day rotation work, you will have the opportunity to pursue your interests and passions by getting involved in meaningful program-specific work such as internal program committees, peer-to-peer committees, training opportunities and much more. Upon joining CAP, you will be set up for success with comprehensive orientation, be given access to a mentorship program, and many individual and group learning opportunities.

      At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role you’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

      Important Information

      • You have graduated (in 2022 or 2023) or are graduating in 2024 from a post-secondary institution with a degree in Business, Technology, or Science, and would like to pursue a career within Cyber Security.

      • You are currently completing/have completed a CIBC co-op (not mandatory)

      How you’ll succeed

      • Passion for Information Security: You are inspired by the changing landscape of information security and maintain a good understanding of or have a strong curiosity and desire to learn about emerging trends in financial services, technology innovations, and client experience advancements. You are proficient in MS-office suite tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

      • Collaboration: You enjoy collaborating with a team to come up with innovative solutions to a problem that will make a difference and are able to establish partnerships across teams to get your work done.

      • Communication: You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are not afraid to ask questions and to seek clarity on what is required of you in your rotations.

      • Relationship Building: You excel at developing relationships with various stakeholders and partners.

      • Time Management: You have effective self-management practices to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities, activities or projects, and can make effective judgments as to prioritizing and allocating your time.
