- Perform independent research to plan, organize, and coordinate content needs, making appropriate decisions
- Demonstrate excellent collaboration and customer service with campus partners and colleagues
- Ability to advance multiple time-sensitive projects concurrently using project tracking tools to measure progress and communicate key deadlines and deliverables
- Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to using feedback and data to inform quality improvement efforts and develop content and communication strategies
- Possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, and a proactive approach in managing multiple, competing priorities and projects with fluctuating deadlines
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of experience in an office environment, preferably in a student-services setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with project management, including tracking project status and collaborating with key stakeholders.
- High level of communication skills, especially in written communication.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a proven ability to advance key objectives within a hybrid work environment.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and databases.
- Ability to edit web content via content management systems.
- Demonstrated organizational and detail-oriented project skills.
- Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds.
- Familiarity with principles of user-friendly web accessibility requirements and instructional design (ID).
- Previous work experience in a university career center and/or knowledge of career development theory and education.
- Experience with higher education tools such as PeopleGrove, uConnect, Interstride, and/or Canvas LMS.
- Knowledge of the Cornell community and Student and Campus Life.

Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. Our comprehensive services in Barnes Hall are open to all students and alumni, and complement the services offered through career offices in the undergraduate colleges that are tailored to more college-specific academic and career goals.
The mission of Cornell Career Services (CCS) is to empower students to identify their strengths, interests, and values; discover and explore possibilities; gain experience; and develop strategies for pursuing diverse career paths and making mindful career decisions. We offer an array of career-development activities that inspire students to gain confidence and establish a foundation upon which to build their careers over a lifetime.The Career Education Specialist plays a crucial role in leading the creation and publication of career education content, significantly contributing to student learning and development, and enhancing key initiatives within Cornell Career Services. Responsibilities include managing content delivery platforms (CUeLINKS, uConnect, and the Career Development Toolkit), creating content and working with campus partners to create and develop interactive educational materials for specific industry communities. Additionally, this role will partner with the Career Services Communications Lead from Student Campus Life who manages and coordinates marketing and communications for career services. In this capacity, the Career Education Content Specialist will also supervise student interns. Overall, this position is pivotal in executing Cornell Career Services’ strategic initiatives and ensuring all students have access to essential career information.
