      Trinity Rail is hiring a Career Valve Technician at our Shell Rock, IA plant.

      In this role, the Valve Tech assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies or complete units. The Valve Tech will disassemble, inspect and assemble a variety of different types of valve ranging from safety to shut off valves. This position plays a vital role in ensure that all safety and quality procedures are being followed.

      What you'll do:

      • Exhibit Trinity Core Values and TrinityRail Maintenance Services 3 Ts (take care of our people, trust, and transparency).
      • Be present and available for work.
      • Perform and oversee various types of NDT methods ranging from but not limited to liquid penetrate testing, bubble leak testing within the valve shop.
      • Act as a mentor to the rest of the team members, supplying positive coaching advice while achieving production demands.
      • Disassemble, inspect and assemble valves according to the manufacturers IMO and to all of Trinity Industries safety and quality procedures.
      • Safely use, inspect all hand tools prior to use and during your scheduled shift.
      • Ensure all safety and quality standards are being followed and upheld throughout the valve shop
      • Aid in upholding our quality assurance certificate through the Association of American Railroads
      • Communicate with leadership and other team members to ensure all production demands are being met.

      What you'll need:

      • Minimum of 1 year of experience
      • Entry welding skill desired but not required
