What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Engage and develop relationships with carriers to sell freight and support customer needs
- Interview carriers to capture data on preferred lanes and network opportunities
- Negotiate rates with carriers and manage load bookings using internal systems
- Update and track loads while retrieving and uploading necessary documentation
- Communicate effectively with Account Managers and resolve any in-transit carrier conflicts
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in 3PL, freight brokerage, or a related field
- Basic understanding of brokerage operations and freight market geography
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to navigate web-based systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS)
- Knowledge of current market trends in freight logistics
- Ability to develop and maintain a managed carrier portfolio
