      Company Description

Catch22 exists to help build a society where everyone has a good place to live, good people around them, and a fulfilling purpose - we call these our '3Ps'.

We achieve this in two ways. First, we improve lives on the frontline through delivery of public services. Secondly, we use our knowledge to change 'the system', to fix the complex web that can trap and disempower those it was set up to help. With the heart of a charity, and the mindset of a business, we are uniquely placed to deliver on this challenging agenda.

      Young People and Families

Our Young People and Families hub works with those in trouble, providing early intervention, targeted, and specialist support services to those in crisis, leaving care, missing from home, or with substance misuse or mental health problems. Services support people no matter what their situation – and have demonstrated a high success rate.

Our service aims to prevent, reduce, and stop child exploitation, through awareness-raising amongst young people and their families. We also provide training training for professionals - including partner agencies, education placements, care home provisions, and community settings.

      Job Description

The role of Case Worker - Child Exploitation is an excellent opportunity to work directly with young people, as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

Working in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders (Children's Social Care, agencies, and Staffordshire Police), this role will provide holistic support to children and young people who have been identified as at risk of exploitation (CCE/CSE).

      • Working for Catch22, supporting Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire local authorities.
      • Primarily working from home, visiting children and families across South Staffordshire - including Tamworth, Lichfield, South Staffordshire, East Staffordshire, and Cannock Chase.
      • Directly supporting young people who are involved in Urban Street Gangs/Child Exploitation/Missing from Home.
      • Raising awareness of CE and Youth Crime Issues across Stoke-On-Trent and Staffordshire.
      • Opportunity to plan and deliver one-to-one interventions, group work, and training events.

*A full driving licence, and access to a car, is a requirement of this role

      Main Duties and Accountabilities:

      • Undertaking one to one work with children and young people (YP) who are vulnerable to CSE, Child Exploitation (CE), Youth Crime, and Gang affiliation.
      • Managing a caseload of young people, undertaking needs assessments, and gathering information to develop intervention and vulnerability plans.
      • Planning and delivering interventions, meeting targets, and utilising resources effectively.
      • Conducting Return interviews with YP who have been reported found by Staffordshire Police following a missing episode from home - identifying and supporting access to additional or specialist services to meet their needs, and reducing risk factors.
      • Identifying contributing "Push and Pull" factors throughout the Return interview, and working with the young person and other services to prevent future missing incidents - sharing all relevant information with Children's Social Care and Police.
      • Supporting young victims throughout police investigations, and ensuring that they feel protected before, during, and after court cases – making sure that their voices and views are heard.
      • Recording monitoring information, interventions, contacts, and multi-agency correspondence within prescribed Management Information Systems, by set timescales, in accordance with service specifications. Assisting the production of feedback reports to funders and stakeholders, to track and monitor progress against outcome targets and KPI's.
      • Working with stakeholders, to contribute towards the collation of intelligence information on CE issues/trends, and developing and sustaining productive working relationships with referring agencies, ensuring that regular and appropriate referrals are received.
      • Offering educational awareness raising within the local authority (including placement providers, education, parents, and young people).
      • Supporting and supervising volunteers, mentors, and student social workers on placement.
