Why This Role Matters
With their proactive and personable nature, Christie’s Gallery Assistants support the Client Service team and primarily assist welcoming clients to auction previews and ensuring all queries are answered promptly and efficiently. Christie’s Gallery Assistants act as liaisons between internal and external clients, delivering exceptional service to all.
How You'll Make an Impact
o To provide a warm greeting to Christie’s clients and be the first point of contact for general questions regarding the auction process including condition reports, sale results, Christie's.com, Christie's LIVE, bidding and registration
o Continuously reflect Christie’s image and standards in accordance with Christie’s client service standards
o Keep up-to-date about all things Christie’s and be able to advise on the auction journey
o Locate sale property efficiently and accurately when scheduled in the galleries using an iPad when required
o Confidently use iPads to check in clients attending ticketed views and sales
o Work with the Security team to ensure all items on view are safe, secure and accounted for at all times
o Share knowledge with colleagues and teach new members of the team procedures, expectations and best practice
o Capture relevant client feedback and share it with Client Service Management
o Regularly provide cloakroom support
o Consistently monitor the cleanliness and presentation of the galleries to ensure appearances are always to the highest standard
o To be aware of security and health and safety guidelines whilst on Christie’s premises
o Have the potential opportunity to further support the Client Service team with daily tasks including but not limited to auction estimates and info@christies.com emails
o Have the potential opportunity to act in the capacity of Sale Room and Christie’s LIVE clerk
o Other duties requested by the Client Services Management Team
What you’ll bring to the team
o Passion for delivering exceptional client service in person
o Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
o Ability to stay motivated during quiet times and keep up in a fast-paced environment
o Excellent communication skills
o Friendly, helpful and enthusiastic disposition
o Excellent IT skills and ability to learn Christie’s systems
o Confident demeanour & excellent personal presentation
o Proactive nature and ability to think creatively and be flexible
o Knowledge of and interest in the art and auction industry
o Willingness to work evenings and weekends with some early starts and late finishes on a flexible basis
o Commitment to punctual attendance and excellent time keeping
o Foreign language skills preferable
