What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Complete initial medical records reviews of patient records within 24-48 hours of admission
- Conduct follow-up reviews of patients every 2-3 days
- Formulate physician queries regarding missing or conflicting health record documentation
- Collaborate with case managers, nursing staff, and other ancillary staff to resolve physician queries
- Assist in training department staff new to CDI
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must display teamwork and commitment
- Intermediate knowledge of Medicare Part A and familiarity with Medicare Part B
- Intermediate knowledge of disease pathophysiology and drug utilization
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Active state Registered Nurse license
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Acute care nursing relevant experience
- CDIP or CCDS certification
